Forward
by Nicholas Parsons

I, Nicholas Parsons OBE, was shocked, pleasantly surprised, thrilled and flattered when I was passed a letter by my agent requesting that I write a forward for this website, joep.org.uk. ‘Why would this internet based source of endless entertainment, run by the young and beautiful Joe Pick, choose Nicholas Parson to write such a thing?’ I thought, without repetition, hesitation or deviation. Is it because of my work on the game show Sale of the Century or as host on radio panel game Just a Minute, both of which I know are extremely popular and inspiring among the young and internet savvy population of Britain? Is it because of my honorary role as Chairman of the International Quizzing Association? Because I am a leading member of the Grand Order of Water Rats charity? Or simply because I am in possession of dashing good looks and I exude charm and sexual energy. I am yet to find out for what reason I was chosen, perhaps I will never know, but one thing that I am sure of is that I am very grateful for the opportunity.

I began to do some research into Joe Pick (using materials kindly provided by Joe himself) and soon found out that he is a great and fantastic man, whose greatness has been cruelly overlooked by the media, biographers and general public who have shunned heroes like him in favour of cheap reality show celebrities. There are so many excellent things that Joe has done I couldn’t possibly relate them all to you here, so I will mention but a few which you should read in awe whilst knowing that they are only the tip of the iceberg. One fact that I was very impressed to find out is that Joe is actually Europe’s most prolific organ donor – having donated more organs than anyone else on record in this area. Indeed, only this year he fitted out every church in Dartmouth with a mixture of brand new digital and acoustic organs, pleasing the local Christian community so much that they have replaced all effigies of Christ with models of him. In another act of sweet kindness, Joe rescued twelve thousand dormice from the personal home of Jim Davidson (who had bred them only to kill them for kicks), nursed them back to full health and allowed them to live on his person until they were ready to go back to nature – a beautiful, wonderful act.

As I mentioned earlier, this is only the tip of the iceberg when discussing Joe, to describe all his good deeds would require the whole internet, for now I can only hope that you will enjoy his website.*
